Pork & Sauerkraut Supper
Pork chops or roast pieces bake over sauerkraut, potato, onion, beer, and a little brown sugar until the juices turn mellow and savory. It is a compact German-style supper from one dish.
Layer sauerkraut, potato slices, and onion in a casserole dish.
Season pork with pepper and nestle it into the kraut mixture.
Stir brown sugar into the beer and pour it over the casserole.
Cover and bake slowly until the potatoes are tender and the pork is hot through.
Uncover near the end if the pork needs a little browning.
Serve the pork with plenty of sauerkraut and pan juices.
