Round Steak Supreme
Round Steak Supreme is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. round steak (1 inch thick), 1/4 c. shortening, 2 large onions, sliced, 1/2 c. chili sauce and 1/2 c. california ros wine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Brown steak in 1 tablespoon shortening on both sides.
Place in a shallow baking pan.
Melt remaining 3 tablespoons shortening and add mushrooms, onions and green pepper.
Cook 5 minutes or just until soft but not browned.
Blend in chili sauce, tomato juice, wine, salt, pepper, garlic salt and Worcestershire sauce.
Pour sauce over browned meat.
Bake in hot oven, 425 degrees, for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees.
Cover and continue cooking about 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
Makes 6 servings.
