Oven Swiss Steak
Oven Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. boneless round steak, 2 tbsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 c. oil and 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes (undrained), chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Pound steak to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut into serving pieces. Combine 2 tablespoons flour and salt; coat steak with flour. Brown in hot oil in skillet.
Place in a lightly greased baking dish.
Add 2 tablespoons flour to pan drippings.
Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add tomatoes, celery, carrots and onions; cook until thickened.
Stir in soy sauce.
Pour over steak in baking dish.
Bake in a 350Β° oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until steak is tender.
