Country Fried Chicken
Country Fried Chicken is an moderately easy dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 20 minutes. Made with (1/2) chicken breasts, thighs, legs, more chicken (if needed) and buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Soak chicken in ice water for about 1/2 hour.
Drain well and cover with buttermilk 1/2 to 1 hour.
Take out of milk and place on paper towel.
Heat oil (I use vegetable oil with 1 tablespoon margarine).
Dredge chicken in flour with salt and pepper.
Fry to your satisfaction or doneness.
Place lid on skillet for about 10 minutes at end of frying (optional).
Drain on paper towel or as is.
