White Bread
White Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 1/2 to 7 c. all-purpose flour, 2 pkg. yeast, 3 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. salt and 1 1/4 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

In large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups flour, yeast, salt and sugar.
Mix well.
In saucepan, heat water, milk and shortening until very warm, 120° to 130°.
Shortening does not need to melt. Add to flour mixture.
Blend at low speed until blended.
Beat 3 minutes.
By hand stir in enough flour to make firm dough.
Knead 5 to 8 minutes.
Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover; let rise until double, about 1 hour.
Punch down.
Divide into two parts.
Roll each into a 14 x 7-inch rectangle, starting with short side; roll tight.
Put into greased loaf pan, turning to grease top to let rise again until dough gets to top of loaf pan, about 30 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until brown and the loaves have a hollow sound when tapped.
