Mama and Aunt Mandy's Tea Cakes
Mama And Aunt Mandy'S Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1 1/2 c. flour, sifted, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. butter and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Melt margarine and cream into the above; beat in sugar, egg, vanilla and milk. Cream well.
Gradually add flour from an extra 1/2 cup flour until dough is stiff enough to roll.
Chill well.
Place on lightly floured board and roll to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut with lightly floured cookie cutter and place on greased cookie sheet.
Prick tops with fork; sprinkle with a little granulated sugar (optional). Bake at 400Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Great all alone or with coffee or tea.
