Hamburger-Country Style Steak
Hamburger-Country Style Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. hamburger, salt to taste, 1/4 c. flour, 3 to 4 tbsp. plain flour and 3 to 4 tbsp. melted shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Mix meat, 3 to 4 tablespoons flour and salt; shape into patties.
Roll each patty with rolling pin on floured board (about 1/4-inch thick).
Brown on both sides in shortening.
Remove meat and pour off all but 2 to 3 tablespoons fat in pan.
Add 1/4 cup flour and allow to brown.
Stir occasionally.
Add water and cook until thickened.
Layer meat and gravy in casserole dish.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for 30 to 45 minutes.
Serves 5 or 6.
