Barbecued Chicken(Conk) is an easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 or 3 lb. chicken, salt and pepper, hot water and 1 large onion (for each chicken), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cut chicken in half.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Place in pan with enough hot water to just cover bottom of the pan.
Slice one large onion for each chicken and put under the wings and legs. Bake for 30 minutes at 350Β°; turn and bake for 30 minutes more. Then pour about three-quarters of the sauce over the chicken and bake for 1 hour longer, skin sides up.
Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken just before serving.
