Place a large piece of aluminum foil in a baking pan and place brisket in center, shiny side next to meat.

Pour over liquid smoke and sprinkle with all other ingredients except barbecue sauce.

Wrap the foil over the meat and place in refrigerator for about 10 to 12 hours.

Transfer to a 300Β° oven and bake about 5 hours.

Uncover and pour barbecue sauce over meat.

Re-cover and bake 1 more hour.

When done, cool and slice against the grain. Trim off excess fat.
