Baked Greek Beef Pattiesaunt Elizabeth'S Recipe is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lbs. lean ground round, or chuck, 1 egg, 2 slices, dry bread crumbs, 1 medium onion, fine chopped and 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Mix all ingredients together and shape into 1/4 inch thick round patties (about 14 or 15 patties).Place in two 9 X 13 inch baking pans.
Do not use aluminum pans.
Bake for 35 minutes at 350Β°.
Mix together ingredients for tomato sauce using 4 large cans of Hunt's tomato sauce, 2/3 cup of dry Burgundy wine, about 30 peppermint leaves finely chopped, 3 Tbsp. of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste.
Pour over patties in baking dish and bake for 35 minutes longer.
Serve patties and sauce over spaghetti or linguini, topped with grated Parmesan cheese. Serve with green salad, greek black olives and garlic bread.
