Swiss Cream Steak
Swiss Cream Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 tbsp. margarine, 2 c. sliced onions, 2 lb. round steak, cut into 1/2-inch strips, 1/2 c. flour and 1 tbsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Melt 4 tablespoons margarine in large skillet.
Saute onions; remove from skillet.
Pound steak strips and dredge in flour seasoned with salt, pepper and paprika.
Melt remaining margarine in skillet and add meat.
Brown well on both sides.
Mix in prepared onions, water and sour cream until blended.
Cover and cook over medium heat until meat is tender, 30 to 45 minutes. Uncover and cook until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
Serve over hot, cooked rice or noodles.
