Mexican Pepper Steak
Mexican Pepper Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. round steak, 1 tbsp. oil or shortening, 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes (undrained), 1/2 c. chopped onions and 1 (2.5 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Trim steak of all fat, gristle and bone.
Cut across grain into 1-inch wide strips.
Brown steak in oil in a large skillet. Add tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and barbecue sauce to meat.
Cover skillet and simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
Stir in green strips.
Simmer 15 minutes longer.
Serve with rice or noodles.
