Healthful Date Bread(Low-Fat) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (8 oz.) pkg. pitted whole dates, snipped (not sugared), 1 c. raisins, 1 1/2 c. boiling water, 2 c. whole wheat flour and 1 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Lightly grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Pour boiling water over combined dates and raisins.
Cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Stir egg whites and vanilla into cooled date mixture. Add with almonds to flour; stir until well blended (mixture will be thick).
Spread evenly in pan. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool thoroughly on wire rack.
Wrap and store overnight before serving.
