Creole Gumbo
Creole Gumbo is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 fryer, 1/4 c. oil, 1/2 c. flour, 1 stalk celery and 1 large onion, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Boil the chicken until tender.
Remove meat from bones and cut in bite size pieces.
Set aside.
Make gravy with oil and flour in a large pot.
Add chopped celery, onion, green pepper and garlic to gravy.
Cook on low until tender.
Fry okra until tender.
Add to gravy mixture.
Add chicken, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, catsup, tomatoes and pepper flakes.
Simmer 3 hours.
Add shrimp. Simmer 30 minutes longer.
Add tablespoon of lemon juice, if desired.
Serve over rice.
