Chicken Fried Steak
Chicken Fried Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 8 thin slices round steak or minute steaks (1 lb.), 1 egg, beaten, 3/4 c. bread crumbs, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Put beef slices between sheets of plastic wrap.
With flat side of mallet, pound until about 1/4 inch thick.
Dip beef into the beaten egg and then into bread crumbs, mixed with salt and pepper.
Heat fat in heavy skillet over medium to low heat.
Brown steak 8 to 10 minutes on each side.
Place steaks on warm platter. Keep hot.
