Sugar Drop Cookies
Sugar Drop Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. butter or margarine and 1 c. godchaux granulated sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cream softened butter and sugar together; add egg and beat until fluffy. Alternately mix flour and milk into egg mixture.
Add vanilla. Drop by teaspoon onto a cookie sheet.
For a sugary top, lightly flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass which has been buttered and then dipped in sugar.
Bake at 375Β° (moderate oven) for 18 to 20 minutes.
Remove from cookie sheet while still warm. Makes about 3 dozen.
