Southwestern Swiss Steak
Southwestern Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. boneless round steak, tenderized, 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1 (10 oz.) can tomatoes and green chilies and 1/4 c. chopped celery, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Cut meat into 3 or 4 portions.
Mix flour and salt; dredge meat in flour mixture.
Set aside remaining flour.
Brown meat in small amount of hot oil, about 3 tablespoons.
Place meat in shallow baking dish.
Blend reserved flour mixture into drippings in skillet.
Add tomatoes and green chilies, celery, carrot and onion.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
Pour over meat.
Cover and bake in 350Β° oven for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
Sprinkle cheese over meat.
