Beat shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly.
Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
Stir dry mixture into top 3 ingredients.
Shape into balls (about size of walnut). Roll balls in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
Press balls down with a fork and bake at 400Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
