Sauteed Chicken Baked In Cream And Mushrooms is an moderately easy dinner. Clean and cut into pieces 2 to 2 1/2 pound frying chicken.
Dip in milk.
Dredge with flour.
Season with salt and paprika.
Melt in a skillet 1/2 cup lard or bacon drippings.
Add chicken.
Saute it until brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Slice 1/2 pound mushrooms.
Saute mushrooms in skillet for 2 minutes.
Place chicken in a deep baking dish.
Place mushrooms on top.
Pour over it 2 cups hot cream.
Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon paprika.
Bake chicken at 325Β° until tender and cream is a thick sauce (about 1/2 hour).
