Pecan Tarts
Pecan Tarts is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. hot water, 2 tbsp. butter, 2 1/2 tbsp. flour and 1 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Boil together the brown sugar and hot water for 10 minutes. Cool and add the butter, flour, milk, salt and eggs.
Cook all together in a double boiler until thick and smooth, stirring constantly.
Cool and add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/2 cup pecan meats, chopped.
Put 2 tablespoons of mixture in prepared (baked) tart shells.
Garnish with 1/2 cup whipped cream, sweetened with 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar and put a whole pecan on top.
Fills about 1 dozen shells.
