Pastry Wrapped Frankies
Pastry Wrapped Frankies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 24 cocktail frankfurters, 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. shortening and 1/4 c. grated cheddar cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Combine flour and salt.
Cut shortening into flour mixture with a pastry blender until crumbs are about the size of small peas.
Add grated cheese.
Add water to mix, a small amount at a time, mixing quickly and evenly, until dough just holds in a ball. Roll pastry into a 6 x 12-inch rectangle.
Cut strips 1/2-inch wide and 6-inches long.
Wrap pastry spiral fashion around frankfurters, sealing ends.
Place on cookie sheet and bake in a hot oven at 400Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes about 24 Frankies.
