Hot Reuben Sandwich

Cook sauerkraut and brown sugar with a little water for 30 minutes; drain.
Cut bread in half horizontally. Spread bottom half with corned beef (can be softened in microwave for 15 seconds to make easier spreading).
Place sauerkraut over corned beef; cover with slices of cheese.
Place on cookie sheet in a 350Β° oven until cheese melts.
Cover with top half of bread; return to oven for 3 to 4 minutes. Cut in wedges.
