German Chocolate Cake
This German Chocolate Cake is a quick layer-cake version made from yellow cake mix, vanilla instant pudding, melted German sweet chocolate, eggs, milk, and oil. The pudding keeps the crumb soft and sturdy enough for a simple coconut-pecan finish.
Heat the oven to 350 F and grease and flour three 9-inch cake pans.
Combine the cake mix, pudding mix, melted German sweet chocolate, eggs, milk, and oil in a large mixer bowl.
Beat for 4 minutes at medium speed, scraping the bowl once or twice.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans.
Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the layers test done in the center.
Cool the layers completely before stacking and finishing with coconut-pecan topping or frosting.
