Fresh Tomato Soup
Fresh Tomato Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. butter or margarine, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, 1 c. water and 6 medium tomatoes, peeled and coarsely chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Melt butter in large heavy boiler.
Saute onion in butter for 4 minutes.
Reduce to low heat.
Add flour and stir until smooth. Gradually add water.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly.
Add the next 7 ingredients.
Bring to a boil.
Cover and simmer on low heat for 30 to 40 minutes.
Remove and discard bay leaf.
