French Fried Zucchini
French Fried Zucchini is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. garlic powder, 1/8 tsp. pepper and salad oil for frying, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In medium bowl, mix flour, salt, garlic powder and pepper. In small bowl, mix beer, egg yolks and salad oil.
Add to dry ingredients and stir just until combined (batter will be lumpy). Cover with plastic wrap; set aside for 45 minutes.
Cut zucchini into 2 1/2 x 1/4-inch julienne strips; set aside.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Fold into batter and dip zucchini in to coat.
In large saucepan or deep fat fryer, heat 1-inch oil to 375Β° on deep fat thermometer.
Add zucchini a few at a time to hot oil.
Fry, turning until golden brown.
Remove with slotted spoon.
Drain on paper towel.
