Vieno Marsyla's Finnish Coffee Bread
Vieno Marsyla'S Finnish Coffee Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. warmed milk, 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt and 4 ground cardamom seed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
In warm milk, dissolve small amount of sugar with dry yeast. Combine remaining sugar, salt and spices and add to yeast mixture. Fold in 1/3 of flour, then 1 egg, repeating until all eggs and flour are worked in.
Knead melted butter in.
Cover and let rise until double in size.
Divide, roll and braid into loaves.
Place on greased baking sheet and let rise to double in size.
Brush with one whole beaten egg.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 375Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
