Tanabour(Armenian Yogurt Soup) is an easy dinner. Made with 1 can chicken or beef broth, 1 c. pearl barley, 1 c. plain yogurt, butter or margarine and garlic to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Add 1 can of water to the soup.
Cook the barley in the soup according to directions on the barley box.
Just before serving, stir the yogurt into the barley/soup mixture.
Separately melt the butter and add garlic (or garlic powder) to taste.
Place on the table in a separate bowl.
People may add the garlic butter to the soup according to their taste.
