Swiss Steak
Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. beef steak (1/2-inch thick), 2 tbsp. butter, 3 or 4 large tomatoes, chopped, 1 medium onion, minced and 1/2 tsp. herb seasoning, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Pound steak on both sides with mallet.
Cut in 4 pieces and set aside.
Place butter in a 2 1/2-quart casserole.
Cook on High for 2 minutes; add cornstarch and stir until well blended.
Stir in tomatoes, broth, onion, Worcestershire and seasoning.
Add steak; spoon sauce over steak.
Cover with lid.
Cook on High 35 minutes. Rearrange meat.
Arrange cherry tomatoes, beans and onion on top. Cover and cook on High 20 minutes.
