Raisin Walnut Cookies
Raisin Walnut Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. water, 1 c. shortening, 2 eggs, light beaten, 3 1/2 c. plain flour and 1 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil.
Cook for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat; let cool (do not drain).
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening; gradually add sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Combine dry ingredients in separate bowl; add to creamed mixture and blend thoroughly.
Stir in nuts and raisins.
Drop by teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 12 to 14 minutes.
Do not overbake.
Makes about 6 dozen.
