Raisin Scones
Raisin Scones is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 3/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
Cut in butter and shortening.
Add raisins.
Beat the egg in a 8 ounce measuring cup.
Add enough milk to make 1 cup liquid.
Add to flour mixture and mix to make a soft dough.
Divide dough in half.
Place each half on lightly floured board.
Pat out into 1 thick circle.
Cut into 6 triangles and place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 425Β° for 15 minutes.
This freezes well and a few seconds in the microwave oven and they taste fresh.
