Quick Skillet Stew And Dumplings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. lean ground beef, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce, 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables, thawed and 1 c. biscuit mix, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Brown beef and onion in large skillet and drain excess fat. Add 1 can sauce, vegetables, water, salt, thyme and pepper. Combine well and bring to boil.
Mix together biscuit mix and milk.
Spoon around edge of boiling beef mixture in 5 or 6 mounds. Lower heat and simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
Pour on remaining sauce.
Cover and simmer another 10 minutes.
Serves 4.
