Low-Fat Breakfast Casserole
Low-Fat Breakfast Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. turkey sausage, 1 small can green chili, 1 small onion, chopped, 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped and 6 slices bread, crusts removed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Preheat oven to 350°. Brown sausage in skillet.
When it's partially done, add onion, green chili and bell pepper.
Continue cooking until sausage is nicely browned.
Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Place bread in pan.
Pour sausage mixture over bread.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Beat milk, eggs and mustard together and pour over cheese.
Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
Casserole may be made ahead of time and refrigerated.
If so, set out at room temperature 15 minutes before baking.
