Light 'n Crisp Waffles
Light 'N Crisp Waffles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 egg yolks, 2 c. (500 ml) milk, 2 c. (500 ml) all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp. (15 ml) baking powder and 1/2 tsp. (2 ml) salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Preheat waffle maker.
Put all ingredients, except egg whites in a large mixer bowl.
Beat on low until moistened.
Increase to medium; mix until smooth.
By hand, gently fold in beaten egg whites.
Pour 1/2 cup (125 mL) batter in center of grid.
Close waffle maker; bake until golden, 3 to 3 1/2 minutes.
Repeat. Serve hot with your favorite topping.
Yield: ten 6 1/2-inch (16.25 cm) waffles.
