Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake
Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 20 minutes. Made with c. boiling water, c. quaker or mother's oats (uncooked), c. butter or margarine, softened, c. granulated sugar and c. firmly packed brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Pour boiling water over oats; cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy.
Blend in vanilla and eggs.
Add oats mixture; mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon; add to creamed mixture.
Mix well.
Pour batter into well-greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
Bake in preheated 350Β° oven for 50 to 55 minutes.
Do not remove from pan.
