Hunter's Venison Steak
Hunter'S Venison Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 to 6 medium deer steaks, flour (to dredge), 1/2 c. shortening, 1 large onion, sliced and 2 to 4 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Pound steaks to tenderize, then roll in flour and fry in a large skillet until well done.
Remove from skillet and place in baking dish.
Use skillet to brown onion.
Pour water over the onions and blend in flour.
Stir until thick.
Season to taste with salt, pepper and cayenne.
Pour over steaks in baking dish.
Bake in 350Β° oven 30 to 45 minutes.
