Hot Dogs on a Stick
Hot Dogs On A Stick is an moderately easy dinner. Made with oil or shortening (for deep frying), 1 c. bottled barbecue sauce, 1 c. packaged pancake mix, 2 tbsp. cornmeal and 1 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Slowly heat oil at least one-inch deep to 375Β°.
In small saucepan, gently heat barbecue sauce.
Combine pancake mix, cornmeal, sugar and 2/3 cup water.
Beat with rotary beater just until smooth.
Let batter stand for about 10 minutes to thicken. Dip frank into batter to coat all over lightly.
In hot oil, fry franks a few at a time for two to three minutes, or until crisp and golden brown.
Lift out with a slotted spoon and drain well on paper towels.
Insert wooden skewer into one end of each frank. Serve at once with barbecue sauce for dipping.
