Grandma Kline's Coffee Cake
Grandma Kline'S Coffee Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. or cakes yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water and 1 tbsp. sugar, 2 c. milk, 4 1/2 c. flour, 1/3 c. sugar and 3 tbsp. crisco or butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Dissolve cake yeast in warm water and 1 tablespoon sugar. Cover; let rise.
Add to milk that has been scalded and cooled. Add 2 cups flour; let rise.
Add 2 1/2 cups flour to make soft dough.
Add remaining ingredients.
Let rise.
Put in greased cake pans.
Let rise.
Grandma always kinda pinched her finger 6 or 7 times on top and put mixture of melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and cream.
