Grandma Alice Kline's Sugar Cookies
Grandma Alice Kline'S Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar, 1 c. butter or 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. oleo, 1 egg, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cream sugar and butter.
Add egg and flavorings.
Mix thoroughly.
Add flour and dry ingredients.
Blend together into creamed mixture.
Chill 2 hours.
Roll half of dough at a time to 3/16-inch thick on lightly floured pastry cloth. Cut with cookie cutters.
Sprinkle with sugar if they will not be iced and decorated.
Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375Β° for 7 to 8 minutes or until delicately golden.
Makes 5 dozen (2 to 2 1/2-inch) cookies.
