Fried Cabbage
Fried Cabbage is an easy dinner. Made with 1 small head green cabbage, shredded, 3 tbsp. bacon fat or more, 2 tsp. red pepper flakes and salt to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Use only the young sprouts, 6 or 8-inches high. Do not cut below surface of the ground as the root is poisonous.
Parboil leaves and stalks 3 times, pouring off water after each 1 minute of boiling.
Boil in fourth water until thoroughly tender. Drain and fry in hot, salted bacon drippings.
Serve with vinegar.
