Easiest Swiss Steak
Easiest Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. boneless beef chuck steak, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 c. onion, chopped, 1/2 tsp. italian herbs and 2 bay leaves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Remove outside fat and cut steak into serving pieces. Sprinkle with salt.
Brown under broiler, turning once.
Remove from broiler and place in baking dish.
Stir onion, herbs and bay leaves into tomatoes.
Pour over steaks.
Cover; bake in a 300Β° oven for 1 1/2 hours, until beef is tender.
Stir flour into cold water to make smooth paste.
Pour over steaks; bake for 20 minutes more, or until sauce thickens.
