π Recipe adapted from RecipeNLG-Full
Fill a 5-quart crock-pot heaping full of chopped apples, quartered or smaller, no need to peel.
Tart apples are best. Pour sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt over apples.
Lid won't fit tight at first, but settles down as apples cook.
Begin cooking on high and when bubbling good, put heat on low and cook all day or night, until thick and dark color.
Stir now and then.
If need be, blend a few seconds to soften peels.
Pour into jars and seal.
