Claudia Grice'S Crock-Pot Apple Butter is an moderately easy slow-cooker meal. Made with 8 c. cooked apples, 4 c. sugar, 1/2 c. vinegar, 1/2 tsp. ground cloves and 2 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Put cooked apples, sugar and vinegar in slow cooker.
Cover and cook 12 hours on low.
PurΓ©e mixture at this stage if lumps are undesired.
Return to cooker.
Add spices and cook 3 hours more on high without lid or until desired consistency is reached. May be frozen or put in sterilized jars and processed in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
Golden Delicious apples are especially good for this recipe.
