Christmas Fruit Cookies
Christmas Fruit Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 c. packed brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Cream shortening and sugar; beat in eggs and add vanilla. Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
Combine 1 cup flour and spices; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk and bourbon.
Beat well after each addition.
Coat fruit with 1/2 cup flour; stir fruit and nuts into batter.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets and bake at 350Β° for 10 to 15 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen cookies.
