Christmas Cookies
Christmas Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 cup butter or margarine, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 large egg yolks and 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cream the butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
Beat in the salt and egg yolks.
Add the flour kneading with your hands to make a soft dough.
Pat in bottom of a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in 350 oven or until lightly browned.
Remove from oven and spread with jam and chocolate chips.
In a deep bowl, beat the egg whites with a rotary or electric beater until stiff peaks form.
Use a rubber spatula, fold in the chopped nuts and 1 cup sugar.
Spread over jam.
Bake 25 minutes at 350.
Cool 15 minutes, cut into 30 bars while still warm.
