Chinese Barbecued Spareribs

Cut spareribs into individual ribs; arrange on rack in baking pan.
Sprinkle with monosodium glutamate.
Bake at 300Β° for 45 minutes.
Combine remaining ingredients; brush the ribs with the mixture.
Bake 30 minutes longer.
Turn ribs; brush with sauce. Bake another 30 minutes, or until ribs are browned and crisp, brushing again until all sauce has been used.
Ribs may be kept warm in oven turned to its lowest heat.
Yields 8 servings, if other main dishes are served.
