Chili Con Carne
Chili Con Carne is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. ground beef, 2 c. chopped onion (large), 1 large green pepper, chopped, 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Brown meat in heavy skillet.
Break up with spoon or fork as it cooks.
Add onion and green pepper.
Cook until soft.
Add tomatoes, salt, cloves, chili powder and paprika.
Cover; simmer 2 hours.
Add hot water to keep from thickening (if necessary).
Add beans; heat thoroughly for 10 minutes.
Cover; refrigerate.
Heat before serving.
