Chicken Barbecue Sauce
Chicken Barbecue Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 7 whole (2 3/4 to 3 lb. each) chickens, 1 qt. water, 2 qt. cider vinegar, 2 lb. butter and 1/4 lb. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Split chicken into halves.
Mix together all ingredients except chicken, in a large pot over low heat.
When butter is no longer lumpy and sauce is hot, it's ready to use.
Apply to chicken every 5 to 10 minutes until chicken is completely done, 1 to 2 hours. Best barbecued over a charcoal pit.
