Chicken and Dumplins

Place cleaned chicken in a deep pan.
Cover with water and season as desired. Cover and simmer until tender. Allow about 1 hour for a broiler-fryer and about 2 to 3 hours for a stewing hen. Sift 3 or 4 cups flour in a bowl.
Make a well in it.
Add salt, egg and water.
Make a stiff dough and let stand in refrigerator a few hours. Roll out thin and put into boiling chicken broth and cook.
