Applesauce Raisin Cookies
Applesauce Raisin Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. soft shortening, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 egg, 3/4 c. applesauce and 2 1/4 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
While stirring ingredients in bowl, simmer the raisins in tiny pan with enough water to cover them and a little to spare.
Be sure to drain water from raisins before adding to dough. Cream the shortening.
Add brown sugar and egg; mix well. Add applesauce. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture. Add raisins and nuts, if desired.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
