Saucy Budget Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. boneless shoulder or chuck steak, 1/2 c. water, 1/4 c. catsup, 2 tbsp. brown sugar and 2 tbsp. lea & perrins worcestershire sauce, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Brown shoulder or steak in preheated 425° oven 20 minutes; drain fat.
Reduce temperature to 325°.
Combine water, catsup, brown sugar, Worcestershire and salt.
Pour over meat.
Cover; bake until tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
Spoon sauce over meat.
Can be made ahead, refrigerated and reheated, covered.
